Own a business that you want to make accessible? Looking for help building a ramp at your home? Wondering about language in the ADA?
Technical assistance is provided free of charge to individuals and businesses to aid and encourage them to make buildings and facilities accessible.
Options for Independence provides free education and information on the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and can assist consumers, families and the public on how to make sure that places where people with disabilities live, work and play are accessible.
Options can also conduct a free walk-through and give architectural design information on how to make a business or home more accessible. If in need of a home modification the Access program can assist with providing the correct modifications needed at no cost to the applicant that requires the modification. Home Access Program
Options for Independence administers two other ramp programs. A County Ramp Program, which is funded by the Cayuga County Legislature.
We also operate a City of Auburn Home Access Program, which is funded by the City of Auburn and can be used to build a permanent ramp or make modifications to your home to increase its accessibility. This program can only be accessed by residents living in the City of Auburn.
