Cayuga Homeless H.O.P.E.

The Housing Outreach and Prevention Effort is a collaborative effort to address the needs of the county’s homeless population and stabilize the housing situation of those at risk of becoming homeless.

  • H.O.P.E. is comprised of:
  • Options for Independence
  • Catholic Charities of the Finger Lakes
  • Chapel House Homeless Shelter
  • Rescue Mission Outreach
  • Legal Aid Society of Mid-NY
  • Human Services Coalition of Cayuga County

Cayuga Homeless H.O.P.E. works with you to help you find appropriate housing and maintain permanent housing. Our participating organizations, along with our community partners can:

  • Assist qualified renters who are facing eviction to maintain their housing
  • Assist qualified applicants with security deposit, rent, utility payments, moving costs, storage fees, and hotel vouchers
  • Assist those who are homeless, or at risk for homelessness to find appropriate housing
  • Provide legal services related to housing issues in order to prevent homelessness
  • Assist applicants in obtaining financial counseling to aid in long-term housing stability
  • Provide referrals to local agencies as needed
  • Provide tenant/landlord mediation services to assist in maintaining housing

You may be eligible for assistance if any of the following apply:

  • If you are homeless
  • You are income eligible
  • If your rental housing has been condemned
  • Your rental housing has been foreclosed on
  • You have experienced a sudden loss of income
  • Your credit prevents you from obtaining housing
  • Your living situation is significantly overcrowded
  • You are within two weeks of eviction

Cayuga Homeless H.O.P.E. case managers will provide you with a completely confidential assessment of your situation.
